Recording Vocals with 29 Euro Microphone!? – Cheap Vocal Mic: t.bone SC 300

In this video I want to demonstrate how t.bone SC 300 microphone sounds like with vocals. It’s a condenser microphone and it costs only 29 euros (approx. 35 dollars) which is crazy! So to the point: What kind of quality can you expect with a cheap vocal microphone like this?

Take a listen to four examples from different styles of music. All these examples are recorded in a normal bedroom with the cheap t.bone SC 300 microphone that goes straight into my Focusrite audio interface:

You can get great results with a ridiculously cheap microphone at your home! How awesome is that? My point is not to put the t.bone SC 300 on a pedestal, but rather highlight the fact that you can actually make professional sounding recordings with the cheaper gear also. You could use any other cheap mic for that matter.

There’s no reason to waste money on expensive microphones or preamps – not before you get the best out of your current gear anyway. The way to better quality is not the pricier gear and I think you know it too. You just have to know what you’re doing.

To help you with that I highly suggest that you A: DOWNLOAD MY FREE GUIDE and B: follow my weekly videos and articles on Youtube and on ToughTones.com.
