Creating Screaming Vocals at Home (Vocal Technique and Example)
In this video I’m showing you a screaming vocals technique that can be learned by anyone at home. It is a technique that doesn’t harm your vocal cords and you can make it sound pretty bad ass. Better yet, the technique is rather quiet, so it fits in home studio environment perfectly.
In the video I’m showing how to use the technique to create the screaming vocals at home and how they sound in the context of a song.
I believe the technique is called “Fry Screaming”. It can be done both by exhaling and inhaling. The biggest different is that with inhaling you can’t really pronounce consonants, but in turn it can be easier of the two.
Start with a falsetto and begin to break your voice into this creaking type of sound. In time you’ll get it and then all you have to do is to practice to get the creaking sound stronger. This is how the technique works.
You can use the screaming vocals by blending them in with clean vocals or by themselves. As you can hear in the example in the video, you can use it to create cool screams and growls.
Hopefully you found this video helpful. If there’s anything you want me to cover in the future videos let me know. Send me an email or leave a comment below. Ask if there’s anything unclear or if I left something out. Cheers!
